5 Simple Guides for Beginners to Follow in Starting a Blog

So you do love writing and you want your voice to be heard. You have lots of ideas you wanted to share and blogging comes up to your mind as a perfect platform to reach your target. But the problem is the technical issues of blogging. Here I am to share with you, 5 simple and easy steps to achieve your target. Lets get down to the nitty-gritty of setting up your own blog.

  1. Think of a name for your domain.

Thinking of a domain name for your blog is quite stressful. Sometimes, you already got a name that for you is perfect but when you search for its availability online, someone already have that name. Therefore, I advised that you list down as many possible names for your domain as possible.  Just make sure that those domain names are easy to remember so your readers can easily find your blog.

  1. Register your domain name.

There are many companies where you can register your domain. As for me, I chose namecheap as from what it names already suggested, registration on their company is indeed affordable. They also do not increase their fees on your succeeding years, which is  another reason I chose them.

  1. Choose a hosting company.

There are many hosting companies that will not just give you a hosting service for your website but also will give you a domain for free. But,  I did not do it this way because some companies only offer cheap price at the start  but will ask you a higher price for the succeeding years. So, before you settle on a particular hosting company, you may try doing a survey first which will suit your budget not only for one year but for years ahead. Finding a paid hosting is advisable most especially if you are not that adept yet in blogging technicalities. With a paid hosting, you will have an assurance that you can get an immediate support when you encounter some problems with your blog.

  1. Install WordPress Software.

For the installation, hosting companies provide CPanel. So, the first thing you should do is to login to the webhosting control panel  provided by the hosting company and you will find options on how to install your WordPress Software or WordPress Script. You may use Softaculous/Fantastico Apps Installer to install your script. Next is to select WordPress. Once you select WordPress, use the url for your blog. If  you have https (ssl) use https, otherwise choose www.http or http:domain.com. Provide username, password, and admin email for the blog, then click install. After installing WordPress, you can now access it  by using your domain.com/wp-admin. It will take you to the log in page of your blog.

5. Decide for a Blog Theme

Once you have already access on your WordPress Dashboard, you may now decide what theme or blog designs you are going to use based on what your blog will be about. Just hover on the left side of your Dashboard and go to Appearance. Then, you have to click themes and from there you will see a number of themes to choose from. Take into considerations if the theme is also responsive on different gadgets such a desktop, laptop, mobile phones, and tablets.

Final Thoughts in Setting Up a Blog

By now, I hope that you get a good grasp on how it is to set up your own blog. It might take time since you might encounter some difficulties most especially if this will be  your first time on blogging. Do not worry because it is a part of learning. I think so that even those who have been blogging for years also have undergone trial and error method.

The most challenging part in starting a blog(or anything in life actually) is the purpose. because that is where you will gather up ideas for your possible blog domain. and then the next part, after putting up content is site mapping. and all that other seo stuff. 😀

but naming your blog is the most difficult of them all.
