Things You Should Know About the Accountancy, Business, and Management Strand

The Accountancy, Business and Management  is one of the strands under the academic track in the Senior High School.  This is the strand that many students are afraid to take because of mathematics. However, the ABM Strand is not solely about mathematics but rather, it’s more on analyzing.  Any student completer who has a great interest in becoming an entrepreneur someday is highly encouraged to take this strand.

 

SUBJECTS IN ACCOUNTANCY, BUSINESS, AND MANAGEMENT STRAND

This strand is divided into 3 categories: core subjects, applied subjects, and specialized subjects.

Core Subjects. These are subjects that all the Senior High School students will study irrespective of their chosen track or strand.

  1. Oral Communication
  2. Komunikasyon at Pananaliksik sa Wika at Kulturang Pilipino
  3. General Mathematics
  4. Earth and Life Science
  5. Physical Education and Health
  6. Reading and Writing
  7. Pagbasa at Pagsusuri ng Iba’t Ibang Teksto Tungo sa Pananaliksik
  8. Statistics and Probability
  9. Personal Development / Pansariling Kaunlaran
  10. Understanding Culture, Society, and Politics
  11. Physical Science
  12. 21stCentury Literature from the Philippines and the World
  13. Introduction to the Philosophy of Human Person/ Pambungad sa Pilosopiya ng Tao
  14. Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Region
  15. Media and Information Literacy

Applied/Contextualized Subjects. These subjects are designed  to focus on the  specific applications of certain subjects on the students chosen track of strand.

  1. English for Academic and Professional Purposes
  2. Pagsulat sa Filipino sa PIling Larangan
  3. Practical Research I
  4. Empowerment Technologies
  5. Practical Research II
  6. Inquiries, Investigation and Immersion
  7. Entrepreneurship

Specialized Subjects. These are  major subjects that college students take.

1.Business Mathematics

  2. Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business and Management I
  3. Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business and Management II
  4. Organization and Management
  5. Applied Economics
  6. Business Ethics and Social Responsibility
  7. Business Marketing

You don’t want to chase jobs? Then build your own business and be the boss. Instead of getting a job and getting your monthly paycheck, you are the one in charge, and you keep your profits. Creativity, critical thinking, communication and problem solving skills are the key ingredients to be successful in this strand.  ABM is about unleashing your potential. It is thinking outside of the box.  There is no such thing as an easy strand.  This all depends on one’s attitude toward their studies.
