Towards a Colorful and Brighter 2020

Even though I know that this post is long overdue, I still wanted to wish everyone Happy New Year and Congratulations. As well on reaching the end of one year and the start of another, it is also the start of a new decade. 2019 was full of ups and downs, but look, we made it! 2018 was the most heartbreaking year for me. I sometimes like to hold things close to my chest, keeping them away from the knowledge of anyone else except me.  It was in 2019 that I started to bring back the pieces to make me feel complete once again. I can say that in 2019 was a year of recovering from pains and heartaches.

Today I want to share with you a sneak peek of some of my 2019 highlights that made this a year to remember. Out of the five goals that I set for 2019, I achieved two.  After a long, arduous journey of writing, research, making request letters, distributing survey questionnaires, tallying survey results, and seeming to be endless editing, I finally finished my dissertation with flying colours. It was not easy but as long as there is long patience and strong faith in God, nothing is impossible.

The second one achieved was reaching the threshold for Google Adsense and receiving my first ever payout since my blog was approved for online monetization. It was a struggle to blog throughout 2019 because writing, checking, and editing my manuscripts were time consuming.  Reaching the threshold for Google Adsense was indeed a great blessing.

I also met wonderful people who changed my life’s perspectives by helping me to realize the importance of family and health more than career and money. As a result, I started to pay more attention to my health for my family.  I enrolled in both swimming and yogalate classes to develop muscles, strengthen my core and my back, and  improve my posture. I learned to listen to my body and spent quiet, productive time doing different exercises.

Even though I did not include the study of Korean Language in my goals for 2019, I have still been doing it for many reasons. I have been a language lover since I was a kid and learning another foreign language is such a good accomplishment for me.

I would love to start the new decade and new year with a better version of me.  If there are things that I would love to continue doing in 2020, I will sum it up in two  words :  SHOW UP! Show up to many things such as to life, to love, to health, to happiness. This means that I am deciding to devote a larger chunk of my time over the next few weeks and months towards attaining my goals: to have a healthy mind, body and soul, to settle down and have a happy and complete family and to be fluent in the Korean Language.

Hitting all our goals can be tough. But if we finally breakthrough, the success will be even sweeter. Cheers to a  colorful and brighter 2020!
